AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

A Beach for All Seasons

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Wintry Dromana beach, Mornington Peninsula

Inspire Me Thursday prompt ~ Beach
~

Winter lights of ice
Softening waters
A beach where summer lifetimes
Whisper from far days
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Windy, wintry Dromana beach
~
Feathers
Even the stalwart
Suffer wild ruffled feathers
In the windy chills
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Beautiful winter light over a wintry Dromana beach
~
But lights are magic
Like limpid dreamscapes
The soul wings in sheer delight
Riding the sky waves
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Walking Dromana pier in the final lights of day

Sunset
Sunset pale pastels
A last walk on the cold pier
Winter smiles linger

Soon your winter will ease to spring, my winter is creaping ever closer...my summer's smile will linger until frigid airs frost my dreams of summer past.

I am excited to read of your spring, but knowing full well it will be the beginning of my darkness.

Love your beach pics - specially the windy top one. I can feel the chill all the way to Sweden! ;)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Yeah the morbid Dongyue Temple was indeed interesting. But not all the statues were that heavy. There were some of monks, animals and gods of the sea and heavens. Fascinating!
Have a great weekend!

Beautiful photos and haiku. I really like the texture of the clouds in the third photo.

Beautiful words and photos - the second one is my fave, with those black birds waiting, fantastic!
