AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Energy Efficient Solutions

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ As I was driving home from school in welcome rain, I saw this green van advertising solar power!
It had to be a candidate for Think Green Thursday + a bonus green light!
(If you click on the photo to enlarge, you will see under ECOLEC, another sign which states "Energy Efficient Solutions"!)

Mellow Yellow Welcome

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Dromana Hub Shopping Centre, before it had a makeover, was originally mainly sandy mellow yellow with blue trim!
Now it has a pre-dominantly red entrance area!

Man of Light in the Shadows

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ This image of the Dalai Lama is a momento of his Melbourne visit a couple of years ago.
It was quite an awesome experience being in the Melbourne Convention Centre and hearing him enchant hundreds of Melbourne school students.
Often, the sunlight through my verandah door creates magical light and shadow effects round this basket where his image rests.
It always fascinates me.
