Greyscale Memory

Hey Harriet's Shadow Shot Sunday prompt #15
~

Shadows and lights
Zebra the walkway of
The place where I used to be
All I have left is
Greyscale memory
Since the day
Loneliness
Ceased living
~
The walls I built were
High and cold
But you changed
My Winters to Springs
And now I stroll in
A world edged with colour
How I wish
You could always be
Here
~
P.S. Apology ~ This is a bit cheesy, but I felt like indulging in a little for once! Spring is here, and I was just reflecting on how lucky I am to have my beautiful partner!

Not a bud
Not a blossom
Not a flower
To be seen
And yet
There is a certain
Rippling
Dazzle in
Light by the sea
Whispering
SPRING!

Wild Freedom

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Bird on the seashore at Sorrento, Mornington Peninsula
~
Camera Critters prompt #21
~

freedom in the wild
wild freedom
freedom's child
~

P.S. This bird looks like some kind of heron. But in truth, I have no idea what it is called. It has an unusual grey, smokey-blue tone to its feathers just as the pic shows. But there seems to be an extra layer of stiff feathers standing up at the back over the smooth ones below. It looked quite weird. If anyone can tell me the name of this bird, I would appreciate it.

Pink Coat

Pink Saturday prompt
~
I was taking a pic of a pink doored beach house. But, from a distance, heading toward me, was an image that would be far more interesting for Pink Saturday.
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Dark clothed adults and a little girl in a pink coat
~
As a little family of three drew closer, I saw that the man and woman only had adoring eyes for the little girl as she walked.
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Little girl in a pink coat at play before Mum's smiling eyes
~
Then the man drew out a very large camera and was intent on photographing the sea and sky. Mum, however, simply watched with quiet pride as her little one enjoyed just being alive on a winter beach.
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Little girl in a pink coat and her Mum watching the sea together at Dromana beach, Mornington Peninsula
~
Finally, a magic moment! Little girl and Mum stood side by side and watched the tiny waves rippling onto the beach!
~

Pink moments are
A little like happiness
Tied up with
Radiance in
A delicate bow
~
But when a child is
Coated in pink
The innocent
Fresh
Sweet
New
Hopeful
Blossoms of Spring have
Human
Possibility
~

And I have taken the liberty of posting a quote from Emily Dickinson on How Sweet the Sound, the home of Pink Saturday. It seems to fit these pink reflections.
~
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without words,
And never stops at all.

Lost Footprint

~
Weekend Wordsmith prompt ~ Lost Sock
~

I am just
A lonely
Deflated
Piece of colour
Destined to dream of
Old journeys
~
Once
I was
A necessity
Warming
Protecting
Maybe loving
The very tips of humanity
~
I was a seasoned traveller
Carelessly
Walked and
Washed ~
Always presumed
To be there
~
But there are
(Should be
Must be)
Two of us ~
Inseparable twins ~
Together
We were
The music of
Your song
(Not that you ever really knew)
~
But now
You will never know ~
For my other
Sole is
Lost in
The footprints of
Somewhere ~
And I can only dream
Of of my other days
Lost
In the silence of
My shadow

The sea of clouds is
A moody place ~
Where the waves of light
Stir
A strong
Undertow of
Shadow
~
~
But somewhere
There is
A patch of blue
To find your wings
