AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Shadow Me

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ A brief flurry of winter sunshine at Dromana beach, Mornington Peninsula
~
Shadow Shot Sunday prompt #11
~

You made me take you
I didn't wanna do it
I didn't wanna do it
~
You made me take you
A shadow of my journey
A shadow of my lifetime
~
You made me claim you
A kind of other sculpture
A kind of other beauty
~
And could it really be
Another me
Or just
Me?
~
A few notes: That is me rugged up to the hilt! I have a black velvet, Beatle kind of cap on, a coat and jeans! And that thing you see sticking out at the side is an umbrella looped into my jeans so I have hands free for pics! I am ready for all weathers!

Gemma,

the shot is interesting. I have a semilar self portrait of myself, of my shadow and I thought it is ghostly, the "me" that is separated and yet connected to me.

Your poem fully express the thought and I share your sentiments of the other "You," which is you detached yet coneected.

I wish you well.

Looks like a chilly spot! Glad you're all rugged up Gemma! I like the sound of your black velvet Beatle cap, way fancier than my daggy beanies ;) Great photo & poem!
