AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Butterflies on ice are out of place! I hope it isn't thin ice or hot ice.
Gemma, I am glad your pictured wall has a balcony. I do like them, they give us a relaxing place to see outside our walls.
Our house has a balcony in back. It is like a two way mirror, we can't be hiding up there. Except in the darkness.

Excellent poem!

There are many ways to look at your poem. I like the alliteration of concocted cocoons.

The impossible image of a butterfly on ice is compelling. And disturbing. And impossible. Exquisite poem.

There is not metamorphosis until we suspend our illusions. What a brilliant take on the prompt!
