I'll have to read a little more about this day of remembrance. Is it something from WWI?
Anyway your photos are pretty with that splash of orange/red...

Poppies and Iris? Very pretty and timely.

How lovely that you remembered. Somehow in these days of rush, so few stop for two minutes at 11 on the 11th of the 11th.
The poppies remind me also of that horrendous battle at Waterloo a hundred years before, when the fields ran with blood and were strewn with the dead and dieing.
Will mankind never learn?

The contrast of white and red is really great. The words are strong but they're the truth.
Have a good week ahead Gemma!
