Presence in a Cemetery

For this TT post, I decided to break away from my usual research indulgence and consider the whole "context" of one cemetery.
This is a view of Flinders Cemetery on the southern end of the Mornington Peninsula..
Each time I have wandered here, I have felt the trees add a distinct "Australian painting" presence.

The trees seem like grand mothers, gently nurturing the souls who rest here.

A soft, quiet place
Where the white boughs of Nature
Are the earth angels

Gemma, what GLORIOUS photos. Those trees are so beautiful and I love you naming them earth angels.

The trees are almost overpowering! It feels very much like a park with the odd stone monument poking up every now and then.

Yes, Gemma, good to focus on the landscape for a change, although I do adore the history that you unearth ... so to speak.

More and more of the cemeteries through which I meander, have this idyllic rural framing to them, with sushing branches, and tumbling water and the call of Butcher Birds.

Wonderful, totally Australian, post.

It seems to be a very old cimetary and the trees are really beautiful !
