Sepia Scenes meme #11

To celebrate the passing of 2008, and the hush before the dawn of 2009, I chose to create a sunset sky in nostalgic sepia tones.

Walk On
White Bells
Swinging Point of View
Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Since moving here just before Christmas to the Dromana Hills, Mornington Peninsula, we are finding out that cockatoos are frequent flyers round our world. They especially enjoy any ripening fruit. But sometimes, they don't quite manage to land elegantly in a selected tree. This guy missed his footing in the small apricot tree and decided to see the world from a different point of view. He looked very strange swinging there!

Apricot-Loving Cockatoo

Camera Critters meme #37
~
We have just moved into our new home in the Dromana Hills, right below the peak of Arthurs Seat, Mornington Peninsula. Exhausted, we were slumped in chairs on the back verandah. But then, on turning around, we saw this white cockatoo on the upper small verandah railing, eating an apricot from a tree below. I was shaking when I took this shot, hoping he would not move. I was so shocked!

Skywatch Friday #23
~
O it's good to be online again! The move was exhausting with just a couple of surpise hiccups like my pay didn't appear and I was told I could not have electricity switched on because the house must have been issued a defect notice! (The power guys couldn't reach the main power box! The carport roof covered it! How this possibly could happen I don't know!) But apart from that, I love my new world! We have seen the most glorious skies, including light that looked more like an aurora rather than a rainbow!
~
Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Skies from the bottom of the steps to my upper mini verandah. At this stage, I was still too chicken to go up there! Now I am getting better, but I go up very slowly clinging to the railing! I so hate heights! What a woos!

The seas are my dream
The lonely seas and deep skies

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Looking north-west to Melbourne was this strange band of light, mainly pink and green. It was quite broad, and seemed to lead straight from sea to cloud above. There was no bow shape. And it's called?

The most real things in the world are those that neither children nor men can see. Did you ever see fairies dancing on the lawn? Of course not, but that’s no proof that they are not there. Nobody can conceive or imagine all the wonders there are unseen and unseeable in the world.
