My Coastal World

That's My World Tuesday prompt #2
~
My world is a world of one mountain ~ Arthurs Seat ~ on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. Last week, I showed views from the mountain. And now here is the bay below at Dromana beach. The walkway you see wanders along the coastline to Safety Beach just below Mount Martha (really a hill) to the north, or far to McCrae and Rosebud in the south.
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ The coastal Nepean Highway passes through Dromana village shopping centre. This is a shot taken very early on a Saturday morning. It is Spring. And, as yet, the summer crowds have not inundated the coastal caravan parks. When they do, this scene will look very different.
~

Sleepy winter place
Lost in memories of warm light
Whispers by the sea
~
Some love winter hush
Cold space of summer shadows
Beautiful freedom
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Close up of some of the shops on the Nepean Highway at Dromana. In the foreground are some bike riders in the recent Around the Bay cycling challenge. I enjoyed taking some candid camera shots at these main intersection lights.

Hi Gem,
Your photos remind my days while am in Melbourne.

Was sitting on the beach waiting for the world's smallest penguins in Philip Bay.

What a nostalgic moment now. I love OZ!

Greetings from Joensuu, a riverside town :)But we have very near a big lakesystem, Saimaa.

We have very different place to live,
but feelings inside us are same kind, which belong to human beings all over the world.

Your pictures and place names cunjure up memories of schooldays, of growing up and excursions along the coast in a 1927 Nash or other old car which now would be worth a mint and in the early fifties were all that migrant boys could afford.
Later at uni. roaring up to Portsea
in a powder blue Austin Healy! Ah the heady days of youth. Thanks for the memories Gemma.

I can only imagine living in a tourist area where the town changes from quiet to noisy and bustling. I look forward to your future posts.

In some ways every coastal resort is the same, and yet they are so different. I'm not a beach person for the most part, but your post makes we want to visit!

Thank you for the wonderful tour. This 2nd week of meme really makes us appreciate the many places that we don't usually see or ever had a chance to visit like the one you showed me in this post. Hope you get to have time to check my world too. Another great job and more to come in the coming weeks.

Isn't it amazing how the character of a place changes when the summer crowds arrive? Thank you for sharing your world.
