Shiny Chrome

In the summer season, many groups of bikies like to enjoy a weekend ride together down the Mornington Peninsula.
Often, groups stop in Dromana and they line up outside cafes.
I am always fascinated with all the different styles and the shiny chrome!
So many palettes for cameo reflections!

Excitement of bikes
Like sweet adventure resting
Like shining freedom

Summer Skies Evolving

Yesterday we were driving along the Mornington Peninsula freeway from Mornington to Dromana.
The air was warm.
I could roll the window down to catch fresh breezes.
I could take photos of the passing countryside of fields and rising Arthurs Seat mountain just outside Dromana.

Joy of summer skies
Wonder of sun-bathed country
Delight of new warmth

Profiles of Shadow

Shadow loves to watch the world intently.
But the one she watches the most is my hubby.
She follows him constantly - just like a shadow.

A precious Shadow
Always like a loyal friend
Always close nearby

But when she sleeps outside, she blends so well into the grey of the verandah or the shadows of the garden.
You would hardly know that she is there.

Cemetery With a View

Dromana cemetery is on the mountainside of Arthurs Seat, Mornington Peninsula.
It overlooks Port Phillip Bay with Mount Martha in the distance.
Because of the steepness of the slope, there are several entrances at different levels.
As an alternative, there are steps and winding walkways.
On a historical note, the cemetery was first gazetted in 1863 and the northern slopes were added in 1942.
No new grave sites are available but a plaque may be created on a memorial wall.
Some people choose to buy seats along the walkway overlooking Dromana beach and create memorial plaques on them.
Others choose to have plaques on benches at Seawinds, a garden at the top of Arthurs Seat with views of the bay coastline.
This photo is taken at the main, middle level of the cemetery (entered from Arthurs Seat Road) where there are many children's graves.
I always feel especially sad here and find myself looking out to the view, far, far away!

Diaries of stone
To leave life before living
Young souls always young

P.S. In answer to Julie's question, the blue car on the left is actually a grave with children's toys and flowers inside the car.
There is also one grave that looks like a cot.

On Christmas Day, this couple strolled the Portsea pier on the Mornington Peninsula.
The photo was taken from the gardens of the Portsea Hotel.

Time Out on Christmas Day!

If you are looking for a quiet corner of the world, away from the Christmas colours, here is a seat waiting for you.
It is by the waters of Port Phillip Bay at Dromana.
And the view travels forever!
Happy Christmas!

A little time out
Christmas is so beautiful
But it's time to breathe

Double Reflection

I was tired from gardening and shopping.
So my hubby wandered off to get a few items while I sat in the car.
Not good at just sitting, so I twisted around to see what I could photograph.
This is the result!
A reflection of Dromana Hub with an echo!

Double reflection
Like a layered shopping cake
Sure to put on weight
