Around the Bay in a Day

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Riding today in the "Aviva Investors Around the Bay in a Day" challenge through Dromana, Mornington Peninsula.
This challenge is now in its 16th year.
The event offers five distances: 250km, 210km, 100km, 50km and the new 80km School Challenge. Both the Mornington and Bellarine Peninsulas are bike routes. Some riders bike down one peninsula, cross the bay on the Queenscliff ferry, and then ride up the other to the main base of Alexandra Gardens in Melbourne.
In 2007, over 14,000 participated.
This is Australia's largest cycling challenge in a single day.
Around The Bay In A Day 2008 joins the Jayco Herald Sun Tour as the two premier bike riding events of the Melbourne Cycling Festival. Both events join forces on the same weekend to showcase Melbourne’s love of the outdoors and competitive spirit through the form of cycling. ~ City Search Melbourne
