Pic is Chinese Friendship Garden in Darling Harbour, Sydney, NSW on Just Wandering blog. Built to celebrate Australia’s 200th anniversary, the garden is the local Chinese community’s way of preserving and sharing their rich cultural heritage. The garden was built with Chinese and Australian expertise and materials.~
Squished in the cityscape
Softling harbour landscape of peace ~
Troubled spirits release ~
Frowning pains of minds cease to ice
Hope in gloom; dawns entice
Mellow wisdom; concise yearnings
Light the way of dreamings ~
Celestine wanderings for all
Who seek another call ~
Beneath the smog of tall progress
There is space to ingress
Defying a regress to chains

Your words compliment the picture well. I think all cities should have a place like the one you have pictured. It makes a difference for those who want to escape for awhile. We have a Landing that extends the Ohio river and its my favorite place to go when I'm downtown. Thanks for sharing this with us. Have a nice day.
I especially liked the last six lines. Your poem creates a dreamy oasis, much like I imagine the place from the photo.
your poem express an escape to a nicer place, somewhere where we can daydream our hearts away

it has taken me nearly 47 years to see this.. and i am still trying to make peace with it......
This is beautiful. The poetic form has worked well for you, creating echoes through the rhymes.
