AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

The Living Mirror

Pic from Where is Ben? blog ~ It's a mirror made out of hundreds of square pieces of wood that tilt to reflect differing amounts of light, based on what is picked up by a tiny video camera in the center of the mirror.
~
I live
Beyond the mirror
~
I know
There is some
Breathing beauty
Far beyond

The glassy
The wooden
Reflective lens
~
I am
Above the mirror
~
I know
There is some
Floating vision
Surviving
High above
Framed eyes
~
I AM
The mirror

Fluctuating
In smokey moods
And lights
Of all
I want to be
And need to be
~

Profound, insightful, spiritual -- really loved this. It is wholly original with just a hint of a 'WineDarkSea' feel.

Cool piece Gemma... ;)

Gemma,

A piece from somebody who knows herself fully, seeing herself beyond what the mirror, and what the abvious tells her. This poem of declaration shows the true reflection of your soul. I like what I saw.

I wish you well.

So very different.

I live. I know. I am. I know. I AM.

Love the way you did this.

..mirrors and reflections
invariably remind me of water, perhaps the original mirror.the sequence of 'I live. I know. I am. I know. I AM.'for no reason still pushes me to some muted suggestiveness that the mirror is somehow urging its' subject on towards ablutions..imaginary interpretations perhaps..
