Fearless is an opaque concept
~
Is fearless
To be
Daring with a pinch of stupidity
And a hearty dash of risk?
Or vice versa?
~
Is fearless
To be
Determined
Or is that
Stubborn?
~
Is fearless
To be
A brave or
Dogmatic leader?
~
Is fearless
Being in total self control
Negating
Intimidation and
Doubt?
~
Is being fearless
An admirable trait
Or one to treat
With a little
Wary wisdom?
~
Is a fearless child
The same as
A fearless woman
Or a fearless man?
~
Is a fearless footballer
The same as a fearless
Mountain climber?
Or skydiver?
Or trekker in
The Antarctic wasteland?
~
Taslima Nasreen is a fearless
Ambassador for depressed women
In Bangladesh?
Is that in
The same scheme of things
As Martin Luther King or
As Mother Theresa?
~
I don't think I like the word
Fearless ~
It begs
Far too many questions
With no
Transparent answers
~

impressive.
liked the ending
Liked te thoughts- tell me why do we have compare people who are fearless- they stand up to something isn't it? that in itself is extraordinary!
I like the fearlessness in posing and clarifying the questions. I was too fearful to even get there.

I liked that. You share the same suspicions as me regarding the word.
That's right, not much clarity. Fearless can go either way, I guess, but the secret is probably in the balance. Fear isn't a terrible monster, nor is being fearless a wonderful thing...
One has to put fear in the right perspective. Only then we can overcome it!
I don't think it exists but I loved your questions and comparisions. Nice job!
Food for thought here! Intriguing questions!
Gemma,
There is a zen saying: to light a candle in the dark is to know light. To know dark, go into the dark.

I have no answers but I loved the questions - reflective and paradoxical.
i agree whole heartedly with the closing remarks... i don't know that i desire to be fearless anymore...
