AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Whether I shall turn out to be...

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Archway on my front path in early morning wintry light.

Carry on Tuesday #10 ~ Whether I shall turn out to be the hero of my own life... from Charles Dickens' David Copperfield
~

Shadowed winding path
A hint of camellias
An arched sleeping rose
~
Chilled melancholy
Distilling shards of self-worth
Shadowed winding thoughts
~
An arched sleeping dream
The hero of my own life
A hint of rainbows

So lovely and so strange to think of your 'wintry' light as we swelter in summer. All best wishes from NY

I like the 'hint of camellias.' I have several bushes like that in my garden with very dense foliage. The flowers just peep through!
