I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Mountain Road

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Road at Red Hill, Mornington Peninsula

Photo Hunt prompt #128 ~ Road

A road that leads from high on mountain peaks
With glorious views of seas and spreading skies
And lined with scents and song of early Spring
Is like the chance to bring some heaven home

Beautiful road. It looks like it might drop right into a valley. Enjoyed reading the poem, too...

Lovely shot. I am happy to leave poetry to others to create. I can just enjoy it.

Spectacular shot. I can see the Coastal Mountain range from my home (I live on the flats) and watch patiently as the snow gradually comes down the mountain side. I keep hoping it stays fairly high up, though. :D

Nice photo and view. It makes one wonder where that road will lead as you descend the hill.
