AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Very rich imagery perfect for a haiku.

The lovely elements of the subject are well put together to paint the picture in the mind in minimal words that tell it all, complying to the strict requirements of a haiku form. The reference to spring gave it finishing touches like an icing to a cake.

I am satiated reading it.

I wish you well.

A wonderful spring flower! You start having spring flowers, while we start having autumn flowers, so I decided to use photos of Australian ones instead for the next few weeks!.

Beautiful! Again, your words fit perfectly.
I love the color against all the elements around it - the greenery, the iron, stone, and sky - well done.

Very pretty little flower. My camera and I would have been drawn to it as well. :-)
