AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

I wish it was my photo ~ Nonets for Sunday Scribblings

Pic by iamthez on Deviant Art ~ The Wall
~
I always love the unusual
Perhaps the different angle
Perhaps the different tone
It could be the lighting
Perhaps the topic
But it's not mine
I just view
A shot ~
Yours
~
Mine
So odd ~
I look up
A towering wall
A cotton wool sky
Strange contrasting lighting
Sharp textured brown and white tones
A day from a fresh new angle
Miracles from the unusual
~

To love something unusual and to love something so simple are traits that are to be appreciated. Loved the picture. Loved the cotton wool sky and the towering wall.

This picture is fascinating but your first, autumn pictures really struck me too. It's funny -- here in Europe, we always remember that summer and winter are inversed between the northern and southern hemispheres, but we rarely think about spring and autumn being inversed too...at least that's the case with me...

A perfect shot, in image and words. If you look at it right, you get the impression of looking down on the clouds.

Ah, a nonet! Forwards and backwards they really described your feelings toward this unique shot.

Gemma,
As I look into this shot I assume it's shot up the side of a building to the sky and your words artfully say as much. But for me the perspective seems to draw my down to a foamy sea below the long brick wall.
Different views; it's what make the world interesting eh?

The nonet makes the first letter of my name. ;)

Terrific picture and poem.

What struck me after looking and reading was the dissimilarity of form between the photo and your poem - rectangular with an oblique splitting line and arrowhead-like.

I'll not say anything clever - I just want you to know how much I enjoyed your pic and words!
