AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Mystery Shadows

A home at Safety Beach casts bold diagonal shadows.
It is almost like extra art on the facade.
What I don't quite understand is what creates the shadows.
It's only a narrow space between the wall and this wooden panel.
Why would there be cross panels?

Maison Blanche

This is a side of a home - on a corner block -  at Moorabbin, an inner suburb of Melbourne.
I loved the play of dark shadow shapes on the white.
And the name of the place translates as White Home.

Red Pillar

In the white world of Martha Cove marina homes, the red stands out.
I am not sure why this particular home has a single red pillar.
It looks odd to me.

White marina worlds
Many white boats and white homes
Lonely red pillar

A Red Hill Home

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Many homes at Red Hill, Mornington Peninsula (Victoria, Australia) are two storey and have wide verandahs.
Red Hill is a sprawling country village.

Peeping Toms!

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ This home overlooks Rosebud beach, Mornington Peninsula.
It is quite beautiful, quite elegant but...
The tall windows seem to peer out from the decorative wrought iron balustrade upstairs and the tall wrought iron fence downstairs.
The view must be like segmented pictures!
