rain, cold wind and a beach...

It's rainy, it's cold and it's windy...
Yet still people walk Dromana beach...
One carries a beach umbrella - to contend with the rain...
But in this scene, the umbrella seems to be useful for prodding some sea grass...
(there's a sliver of red in the folded umbrella)

He walked with me...

This guy decided he was going to walk with me awhile along the Rye foreshore on the southern end of the Mornington Peninsula.
He even deigned to smile for a photo shoot!

Four legged new friend
Quietly walking with me
Surprise connection

Finally he decided to wander off into the morning shadows seeking his owner.
(Earlier, I saw his owner on the sands.
Originally the dog was romping in the surf chasing a stick.
I left the beach for this walkway and the dog followed me!)

The Dog Was Having a Grand Time

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ A little one watching me on my walk round Red Hill, Mornington Peninsula
~

Today's Prompt ~ First and Last
Today we will use the line...
THE DOG WAS HAVING A GRAND TIME
The rules are you must use this as your first AND last line in your write, with no changes...

The dog was having a grand time
Romping and dashing around
Scattering piles of Autumn leaves
(We had just raked into mounds)

 Diving into the swimming pool
Now the beach ball has a new hole
Scrambling out to chase the cat
And piddle on the WET PAINT pole

And the clothes line gets attention
Such a tempting long long sheet
A skip and a jump
And a little bite
And a spin round the world is so neat

But hey! Is that Mum and Dad shouting!
Stop! Drop!
What a great rhyme!
They love my wonderful talents

The dog was having a grand time

Friday Flash 55
~

It was raining again…
Like tears rushing from some fathomless well of loneliness…
My loneliness meant holiday confusion…
After all the clamour of half breakfasts before your flight to work in snarling traffic…
After the daily joy of seeing you return home safe…
Now there is just this hollow moment of staring at a stranger…

Duelling Realities

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ The dog is on the inside of the car and all the remainder of the image is a reflection.
I liked how the dog's ear seemed to transform into a small tree!
The photo was a desperate effort to take something in spite of the fall of rain - again!
