AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Perspective - Writer's Island

To hold a ball of solar light
Is to burn
Before the lens
Has time
To meet the eye
~
Playing with
Nature's Fire
Is the ultimate
Cosmic
Game of
Scientific Chance
~
But pretending to grasp
The last sunset glow
Of a dusky evening
Is the ultimate
Surrealistic sigh
Of the Creative Spirit
~
The camera cannot lie

I have a picture of my son, at age 12 or 13, "holding" the moon on his shoulders. Thank you for reminding me of a creative moment I had many years ago.

Gemma,

This is rare - the camera captured that rare moment, your words, too.

I wish you well.
