Pics by Gemma Wiseman ~ from TV coverage of the devastating floods ravaging Queensland, Australia.
75% of the state has been declared a major disaster zone.
I may feel far away in Melbourne, Victoria, but my fellow Australians began their New Year with tragedy that threatened their homes...and it's not over yet!
This Watery Wednesday had to be a tribute to their strength!

Watery Wednesday #122
Dedicated to all those who are struggling through the flood crisis in Queensland!

Your world is water
Like a rushing wild demon
Nature's moods unleashed
But we offer sails
Our belief and hope in you

Wow! sending sympathy. glad to know you personally are safe.
It has been shown on the TV here in the UK every day. Much concern and sympathy for those people suffering with this.
My prayers are with you and the people who are affected.
I also follow the news every day here. Glad to know that you live far away from the flood area. Big sympathy and prayers to all Queensland people...
So difficult for people when disaster strikes... hoping the water will begin to recede soon.
So devastating! My thoughts are with the people in Queensland.
My swedish father lived there but died last autumn.
Third time is a charm I hope...I keep getting "Timed Out" after I click to post my comment.
I've been wondering about you and all my other 'blogging buddies' and this awful, continual, flooding in your homeland.
It was kind of you to share some of the devastation photos, tho still sad to see.

I have seen some footage on the news, and then your photos! This is a major disaster, and my heart goes out to all the people whose lives have been affected!!!
Just today I saw a video about how a parkinglot changes within moments in a raging river, and cars being swallowed up in it. I pray that lives will be spared!
Stunning piece! Such stark images, a reality so unimaginable, yet unbelievably real. My hearts go out to so many, thoughts and prayers dangling like the lost souls trying to hang on.
