AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

My Poetry in a Nutshell ~ January 1-5, 2011
~

1.1.11
Strange watery depths / Dark shapes and mystical tones / Libran reflections

New and a deep green / Unpretentious small mailbox / Shining New Year hope

Like a silver spray / Like a bouquet of water / Enchanting fountain

New white wings / Champion / Old dark tangled secrets and lines

Bright light of summer / Cool sapphire skies and waters / A New Year begins

2.01.11
A mural of tiles / Colours arranged in patterns / Shadows cast contrasts

Unexpected scene / Flowers flooded with summer / A child in clear light

New colours of summer /New life casts new shadows

Oriental shades / Translucent veiled yesterdays / Secretive romance

3.01.11
Buttery lemon / Waves of beautiful petals / Sweet rose perfection

Beginning to grow / Finding personal colours / Finding unique space
Beginning to be / Like peeking over a fence / Hesitant wonder

Gardening is such an earthy tournament/ Thorns and mud/ Trophies

4.01.11
Sharing summer fruits/ A child meets Nature's wonders/ Lifetime memory

One small character/ Slides like a symbol of one/ Intriguing life form

A child longed to see what the old man saw/ But discovered more

5.01.11
Magical garden/ A place to be enchanted/ Dream some dreams awhile

Rainbow lorikeets/ Bold scavengers of fruit trees/ Love shaded secrets

Unique 3D maze/ Swirling neonic colours/ Dream delirium

Soft skies of summer/ Whispers of glistening hours/ Romance of morning

Fireworks in Sydney on New Year's Eve/ Like watching a fizzy rainbow connection

Smudge plausible worlds/ Greed will taint beauty/ Sour dreams willingly
