I always adore the way the pelicans crash into the water, like "I meant to do that..."

This pelican is an avian that looks great - and knows it, too! The beak is lovely, the pouch ready to scoop up a fish for dinner. Long ago in Florida, I watched in amazement how the pelicans dove into the water at such speed - yet was able to capture a fish and climb up at breakneck speeds. A most beautiful bird!
