AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

My Poetry in a Nutshell ~ January 12-18, 2011
~

12.01.11
Your world is water/ Like a rushing wild demon/ Nature's moods unleashed
But we offer sails/ Our belief and hope in you/ From us - Namaste

Tiny wee muppet/ Beautiful but loud warbling/ Character on wings

Blue darkness at dawn/ White swirling afternoon mists/ A twisted summer

Twitter and Facebook/ Like underground flood rescue/ New wave connections

13.01.11
Some puzzles and games/ Some educational toys/ Stimulate children

Brave tugboat and pier/ Like David and Goliath/ Concrete miracle

14.01.11
Summer morning moods/ Rainy face breathes herbal scents/ Shifting watching eyes

Small angel watches/ Curious kookaburra/ A magic moment

Grey and earth patterns/ Some trees love new characters/ Gowns for each season

Designer shadows/ Reality's calling card/ Interpretations

15.01.11
Just a paddling duck/ Weaving a magical scene/ Like swimming in clouds

Misty skeletons/ A soft fire cleansing the earths/ Eerie persuasion

Worlds riddled with mud/ Floodplains of catastrophe/ Streets crammed with heartbeats

Low woomp of grilled speed/ Colours pressed into action/ Umbrella duty

16.01.11
Crop of leaf shadows/ Secret remnants of sunshine/ Harvest of summer

Shadows and sunlight/ Whispers of falling rainbows/ Like a sweet dreamscape

Soul strings in the sky/ Abandon conformist shoes/ Flying welled secrets
I give my lyrics/ Reaching for yours on the winds/ Our music always

Carnival insomnia/ Sharp tinkle of carousels/ Wind up and wind out
Bright musical lights/ How I remember them/ Shambles in flashback

Creativity/ Limited by stale thoughts/ Re-invent the slate

17.01.11
Bright sunny image/ Always a smiling garden/ Welcome alien

Orange means summer/ Like a heated glowing light/ Bold and beautiful

Shadow connections
Smoothing corrugated worlds
Our secret mural

Our different shoes
Prime points in a pyramid
A frame for our souls

Facing each other
Shaping lone spaces with love
As one in blue jeans

Uncool in Samurai cultures! Damned art career!
My decorative, unique shield finally looked like a fancy golf umbrella.
A cartoonist? Hmmm

Motorised rolling by the sea may look like disabled exercise,
But the dog trotting alongside may offer a different version.

18.01.11
Cool summer beach scenes/ Like gentle drifting magic/ Strange quiet spaces

Like delicate bells/ Waiting to ring in summer/ Soft sounds of silence

Waiting for a romantic evening spin/ Two kookaburras on a clothes line
