AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Transition

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ A young happy face enjoying a ride at the celebration of Australia Day near Dromana pier on Port Phillip Bay, Mornington Peninsula.
This day seems to mark the close of school summer holidays for me.
I return to school tomorrow while our students return to school next Tuesday.

Gemma !! you couldn't be more timely. We are celebrating our 62nd Republic Day today in India and all that you say in the Haiku's holds true.

Great haiku. I thought about the school theme but wasn't sure how to put it into words. You did it so well :O)
