That's very cool Gemma! I guess in a vocabulary test I would have sort-of known what a skink was, but I've never even seen a picture of one before. I love stuff like this!!

Great close up! We have skinks here in Florida US too. They are neat little reptiles. Somewhere on my blog I have a photo of one of our native skinks, Southeastern Five-lined.

Skinks always seem to have such small legs for their fat bodies.
Nice pic, but snakes just scare me.
What an interesting creature. It looks like a cross between a snake and a lizard. Can't tell the scale too well but I'm thinking they are not very big. Endangered? Do they have live young, lay eggs, what? I'm thinking a breading program must be in progress in a zoo(s) somewhere for young to be released back into the wild. I must go a googling and educate myself.
Wonderful markings. It looks like a grass snake (maybe that's what you call a skink?)
