Shadows After Rain

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ A flower in my garden in the Dromana Hills, Mornington Peninsula.
The leaves are being ravaged by insects with all the rain, but the flowers are still lovely.
And the sunlight lets them cast some interesting shadows.

That looks like a helleborus, beautiful shadow play here. Glad to hear you had a relaxing Christmas day. Enjoy boxing day, might get some sunshine today.

First time for me to see this plant/flower. The leaves remind me of holly. The rain has certainly made everything green and blooming.

Oooh sunshine! I've almost forgotten what it looks like! I love your flowers and the holes in the leaves makes the photo all the more interesting anyway. Those insects must have full bellies by now :)

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas Gemma and I'm betting you're enjoying your holidays! I'm now on holidays for a couple of weeks too! Yay!

WHEW...it's finally over...the rush, the hubbub, the craziness of the shopping hoards...now we can relax...well, not exactly, now we worry about sales...will we have any after the holidays???

Winter is always such a struggle in the North for retailers, streets are clogged with frozen chunks of ice and snow, if you can find a parking place, you can't get out of it...slippin' n slidin'! My truck is a sled in the snow, not enough weight in the back, so I slide all over...

Days of cabin fever set in, no sun for days on end, too cold to go anywhere...but you should see how beautiful it is this morning out my window...the sky is bright blue against the stark white snow billowing on every branch...no traffic on the 4-lane out my back door...birds are happily munching on the seeds I just scattered for them on frozen grounds, Scratchy's barking at the squirrels raiding the seed piles, chasing off the doves and chickadees...but glorious all the same, if you get my picture!!!

We truly have much to be thankful for, friends and family and LIFE...hope your visit with your talented son was grand, sounds like it was. We had lots of laughs at my daughters' house too and ate way too much turkey...but that's the plan and we're stickin' to it!!!

So let's get on with the new year and pray for better, more peace filled days to come...there are changes in the air, some see it as bad, but for me it's time for the world to go on a diet, time to cut back and say NO to the dark side and become one with all our brothers and sisters...is it a dream...I hope not!

Be well dearest sister and feel the love I send you for the New Year...see ya next year!!!

NAMASTE...
