I've never seen a fly with legs that long either, but Woody is right, it does make for a terrific shadow shot! Hope you have a great weekend, Gemma!

With views and shadows this lovely, I may not think of a fly as a pest again! The long and spindly legs ad an elegant air to this insect...

I had to chuckle, a Google ad on pest control popped up on your blogoversary widget...too funny! What a shot, I had a fly fall on my mousepad last night from who knows where, but he wasn't moving too fast from the cold...so I put him out of his misery...derned flies anyway!

So sorry about the unusual weather down there, you should be luxuriating in it, it will come, as winter has finally laid us to rest, but we've been very busy at the shop, shoppers in droves coming out for last minute trinkets. Many people have just discovered us, so maybe that's a good sign.

Bet you're excited about seeing your son for the holiday, sorta like I am with my Grandson, always good to visit with the younger generation, even if they think yer 'round the bend'!!! We'll be having dinner at my daughters', just my pops, brother, daughter and grandson, we don't have a big family anymore and we aren't gift givers anymore either, just wishers of good will and good cheer, guess that's what it's all about! Wish I had this magic wand that could transport me anywhere in the world, I'd point it south down under so I could say those wonderful words in person...merry Christmas Gemma, you're the best virtual sister ever!!!

A ginormous frosty hug from Iowa...and wishing you the merriest of days ahead and a prosperous New Year!!!

Wow! That looks like a cross between a fly and a mosquito to me. Either way, I wouldn't want it landing on me!

Wonderful shadows!
