Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ It has been awhile since I posted a photo of one of our wild kookaburra friends, here in the Dromana Hills, Mornington Peninsula.
So here is one from a recent, still dark winter morning.
That is the perfect time for them to arrive for food before the onset of other feathered wildlife.

Excellent capture of the kookaburra and that last haiku is my fav. Have a great night.
what a darling little fellow he is!!!
Cute photo!
How beautiful!
What a beautiful bird and I love the text too.
Hi Gemma...What an interesting bird. I don't think I have anything similar visiting my yard. It is so hard to think of you in winter as we are in summer...I also love the poetry. I wrote my first haiku about a hummingbird and posted it. Good thing nobody noticed it as I don't think it's very good...LOL...Michelle
I'm filled with envy at your kookaburra! And your poetry too... never quite got the hang of that myself.
Nice shot of your little friend. I wish I saw a larger variety of birds. I keep looking.
