New Season?

This scene in my backyard represents the many strange elements of my current Australian Winter.
The gold Autumn leaves in the background are nearly fallen.
The Autumn leaves on the left are still turning.
And in the midst is a prolific flowering of daisies.
 All are blessed with light morning mist.

Spiders are not my favourite creatures. But this spider had a certain unusual beauty.
Never had I been in a position where I was looking at the underside of a spider. He was actually in the process of creating his web across my garden pathway. All these nodules on his body seemed to be pulsing as he worked.
The photo was taken in the Dromana Hills, Mornington Peninsula.

Spring Brings Out Odd Shots!

He chose to be right near a cockatoo.
Spring madness?
Yes! We can see the waters of Port Phillip Bay, but we are set back from the immediate coast, partway up Arthurs Seat mountain!

We nickname him Gammy because he has a broken wing.
On this particular day it was raining.
