Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~
Spiders are not my favourite creatures. But this spider had a certain unusual beauty.
Never had I been in a position where I was looking at the underside of a spider. He was actually in the process of creating his web across my garden pathway. All these nodules on his body seemed to be pulsing as he worked.
The photo was taken in the Dromana Hills, Mornington Peninsula.

yes, you are right! that web is hypnotic where preys could no longer get our of it, once hypnotized of getting near and be trapped!
very wonderful take Gemma, together with the pic that came with it!
:)
That's a fabulous view of the spider. Excellent shot!
Spider webs are incredibly intricate, aren't they? Nice pic!
Spiders aren't my favorite either Gemma, but to watch one making a web is magic. Great photo of the underside.. Thank you for posting to Nature Notes... Michelle
Creepy... love the green behind the spider. This looks like something out of a nature documentary.
That looks like a really big spider. I'm not sure I'd have the courage to get that close. I do love webs, though.
