Pic by Gemma Wiseman~ Here is an unusual shot of a wild cockatoo on my verandah railing in the Dromana Hills, Mornington Peninsula
This particular cockatoo is a regular visitor.
We nickname him Gammy because he has a broken wing.
On this particular day it was raining.
What you see is his broken wing stretched out before he takes flight.

Odd he can fly with that broken wing. But I have a duck who walks on a damaged "paddle" (coon I think)and seems not to notice the difference. Nature goes on . . .
He's a beautiful bird. I'm glad that he can still fly. Great shots of him.
I was going to ask if he can still fly. It must be wonderful to be like him and be free as opposed to being in a cage..Do you feed in anything? Lovely post for Nature Notes, but you have so many posts that are showing Mother Nature....Michelle
I too am relieved to know he can still fly. It must be amazing to see birds like that in the wild. We only see those in pet stores.
