AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Almost as good as a rainbow. Your patch of blue is a hint for us that better things are behind the dark times. And that hint and those better things can't be killed.
..
BTW, my 'blue picture' has patches but I didn't talk about them.
I believe your haiku would fit with my picture very nicely.

It's all we need!

My grandmother used to say, "Is there enough blue to make a Dutchman a pair of pants?" when I would go outside and report that the clouds were breaking up and I could see the sky. In her day, Dutchmen wore voluminous pants that required ample amounts of fabric. So a lot was not a lot but enough to build hope on. Just a strange association I wanted to share. I enjoyed your post.

Blue is the color of hope. I love the light behind the clouds.

Hope - that very vital lifeline! What an amazing and appropriate piece that celebrates and cherishes the divine optimism of "hoping"...
