AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Soul Mate?

Sunday Scribblings #166 ~ soul mate
~

Not itemised on a pre-planned menu
There is no entree or dessert
Just a will o' the wisp main course
Waiting for
A surprisingly insatiable hunger
~
A soul mate connection happens when
Two (or more) lives
Meet at
The same inner sanctum
For a moment
Maybe a timeless moment
~
A world untroubled by
Seasonal changing of the guard
Or fickle weather patterns
For a moment
Maybe a timeless moment
~
Not to be confused with utopia
There is no heaven (or hell) here
Just a click of existence
Meeting
On common ground
~
Not to be confused with love
A soul connection
Does not need to be validated with
A physical connection
~
A world with or without words
Just a sign
A smile
A sigh
A reading of the eyes
~
A comfort zone for some
An elusive dimension for others
~
Wire less internet
Invisible modum
~
A yin
Connecting with
Yang
~
It may exist
It may not
~
Only your sense of
Identity and
Belonging in
Reality
Knows
~

What a beautiful cat. I had a similar connection with my little female cat who died three years ago tomorrow.

Oh wow, I want to pick up that cat and give it a big hug! It looks so soft, and those eyes...
Your post was lovely, I particularly like the bit about the soul not needing to be validated by the physial...

*sigh

Purity, the truest sense of the word laid in poetry.

Though such thing doesn't always come easy, doesn't happen as it should be, with people living such hurried lives that many of us don't have the time to really look into each others' eyes anymore, I am one of the few who still believe.

I believe in the magic, I still do,

When two souls meet.

Like in my poem: ONE HEART

~

Two different people

Living separate lives

Wanting different dreams

Going to opposite directions.

.

But then they met.

.

And they become one

One heart in two different people

One in their thoughts

Going towards the same direction ~

.

Living the same dream.

~

I wish you well.

I love that soul mates can be just a connection between two humans - not necessarily a lifetime thing if I'm getting this right. Lovely phrases.

What a gorgeous cat! I think animals can be soul mates - connected on a soul level. Cats are so 'Zen'. They know how to just 'be' in the moment and make wonderful companions for quiet contemplation. Our kitty who we lost in May still makes his presence known about the place. I hear him sometimes - and I just have to say hello. (Good job no one else around to see me talking to 'thin air')!
