Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ The back of the card suggests that the writer is recuperating from an operation in Townsville.
Notice that the card cost a halfpenny - if just included address and sender's name only - and would have cost one penny if sent with a message!

Stylish Railway Station

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ When I first came to Melbourne from Tasmania 10 years ago, I purchased this postcard of a Melbourne icon - Flinders Street station.
What I found intriguing about the postcard was that a vintage style stamp featured as part of the image.

Gunpowder Mills

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Last week I posted an overview of the Penny Royal Museum in Launceston, Tasmania. Here is another perspective.
These replicas of 19th century gunpowder mills are set into a towering rocky cliff face.
(Maybe not a vintage postcard but represents a vintage scene!)

Penny Royal Launceston Postcard

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Images of a tourist attraction right in the heart of Launceston, Tasmania
I used to live in a beautiful mountain hamlet called Liffey - outside Launceston.
When I was forced to leave Tasmania to find work, I was almost heartbroken.
So I collected a range of postcards to keep the memories alive!
