you've captured a wonderful variation of light in this photo. fine shadows, with that glow of light on the walk! I truly love your Winter prose under the header. this isn't my first visit here and I don't know why I haven't noticed that before this. happy SSS to you Gemma.

There are shadows everywhere--even thin and subtle ones between the paving stones/bricks. Luscious!

COMPADRES

Shadows above me,
Shadows below;
Some shadows swift and
Some shadows slow;
All of these shadows,
It’s plain to see,
Are my compadres—
Sweet company!

The texture of the brick makes the shadows all the more lovely!

Lovely variety of sharp and soft shadows for the day, Gemma! Such a peaceful and lovely place!

The iron gate is imposing, a heavy weight barrier to keep people out. Yet, the sun and tree shadows fall on the drive, and their soft character is so affirming and welcoming - not nearly as off-putting at the the stone and iron edifice. Maybe I am invited...

I love the shot, and I love the words. Shadow exhibition indeed. What a unique wrought iron design on the gate! Great work all around.

Peace

That is an amazing gate, and you've captured a beautiful gathering of shadows there.

What a lovely collection of shadows on this bricklike driveway. It is a magical shot. I like the way the image flows across my screen. Genie

Man, I would love a gate like that, but when we finally do get one, it will have to be able to keep our pooches in. A nice, serene photo Gemma. Happy SSS.
