I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Beautiful! I can't get over how short your winter is! We haven't even finished summer yet!
Very beautiful flower!
So very lovely!
Some of the petals look as if they are standing close to protect the center and others as if they are spreading their arms to expose the beauty inside. You caught this beautifully!
(Carletta's Captures)
what a beautiful flower. it's certainly has some character. nicely captured. hope all is well.
WOW, gorgeous! I forget our seasons are opposite. Happy spring!
That is a beautiful shot, Gemma. As you go into spring, we go into fall. I noticed a subtle change in the air today...
Have a wonderful week!
You have had a short winter! It looks to me as though the petals of the flower unfold in a sort of a spiral action. It might be nice to see a series of how the petals actually unfold. Although that may not be possible...
This is a really fine photo... I particularly find the flower center to be very interesting... L
oh, exquisite flower! the details are gorgeous!
Your flower looks unique
Superbe corolle se défroissant à la pointe du jour... Quel régal pour les yeux, que ces tendres couleurs.
Gemma, this is a gorgeous flower portrait!
It seems so strange to think of you heading into spring, just as the first orange leaves arrive here in BC. Beautiful work!
