Seagull Sculpture

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ A sculpture of a seagull on the foreshores of Frankston, Port Phillip Bay, Mornington Peninsula
(The weird view from the back of this has been posted today for Haiku Heights #2 ~ Metamorphosis. The stand seems to look like a re-cycled cardboard box!)

the seagull is nice...but what are the other little things sitting there also...two rubber ducks, a wolf and what looks like an m & m guy?? very funny!!

Happy Sunday gemma!!

The sculpture is merely a representation of the common beach bird. The shadow, though, looks as if it could be the real thing, standing proudly on his perch. The shadow is stately and not as obnoxious as these can be when hungry. The shadow shows an avian gentleman of woman...

Ha! He's lookin' right at me! Like he's going to come bursting through the computer screen and steal my chips. Except I don't have any chips. I hope he realises that!

Fun shadow shot! Hope you have a great week ahead Gemma :)

I love the gard lined sharp edged shadows. Andas I read your description and looked closely, it does indeed look like it is sitting on a cardboard box!
I put your blog on my sidebar at my place, I hope you don't mind.

Peace.

I sat by the shoreline of our flooded Mississippi River last week and watched the seagull and sandpiper walking the shore, I could watch them for hours...as the gentle waves flutter onto the shoreline, though filled with flotsam from the recent floods, it makes for an interesting collection of pods and woods...I may have to wander back there today, as I wait for the fog to rise above the sun...I know it's out there, just can't see it...YET!

How are you dear friend, I believe our school system starts next week, then the school bus drone will crash into my peaceful mornings...but it is what it is, Autumn fast approaching...didn't we just have Spring...where does the time fly. I will be 61 in September and have really never felt my age until this year...hmmm, what will this next year bring, what new aches and pains, but at least I'll have a new garage to work out the pains of having to drag the furniture in and out of my house...CAN'T WAIT!

My brother is having major life change issues, he recently had a cancerous tumor removed from his upper lip, so now he is dealing with his mortality(heavy smoker)...I saw a huge change in him yesterday, as we talked for hours and watched butterflies in my yard...it's the little things you reflect on now.

We both believe in reincarnation and know that our soul journeys aren't over yet and perhaps may never end until we reach Nirvana state. How many journeys have we already traveled...maybe we don't want to know, but I do know that I'm learning to be more one with the Universe, wanting to learn more of the Christ and the Buddha teachings...it makes the journey less stressful and more fulfilled.

So in the meantime, I stare at the butterfly and know that this one life is good! And I know dear soul sister, you know exactly of what I speak...NAMASTE...sweet soul!

Oh yes...and a big ol'humid hug from the USofA...s
