AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Vertical Window Parade

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ On a school excursion to Melbourne Museum, I took this photo of a nearby stylish building! I loved how the windows seemed staggered in cameo patterns.
And yes! One of my students just had to be a part of the act!
Even if it just meant that his arm and hand snatched the spotlight!

A Moment in Brunswick

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Last week, I was on a school excursion to Melbourne Museum.
On the way, we passed through the charm of inner city Brunswick.
When the mini bus stopped at the lights, I saw this sweet scene!
Time for a photo shoot!

Mosaic of Echoes

Collage by Gemma Wiseman ~ I so love the skies round my Mornington Peninsula.
But this collection is the result of a little experiment.
Each photo is an overlay of two photos taken from a similar position, so that there is a shadowy, dimensional effect.
Then all three resulting photos are collaged.

New Bumblebee and Friends

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Some new and old versions of Melbourne transport icons.
(Enlarge to appreciate the detail!)
There is the yellow taxi, the old tram style with the pale yellow roof (on the left of the photo) and the new bright and breezy yellow 'Bumblebee' tram which runs from St Kilda on Port Phillip Bay to Brunswick.
It is called Route 96.
(By coincidence, an old Australian soapie was called 'Number 96'!)
