Autumn's Song

Autumn begins.
The beach crowds thin, the winds increase and the waves rolling in to Dromana beach become more choppy.

When Autumn begins
Nature's wild soul awakens
And seas spin to shore

Beyond the mangroves...

Mangroves are in the foreground.
Beyond the mangroves is a gracious white yacht.
Beyond the yacht are the not so gracious white shapes of industrial plants at Long Island Point.
Large oil tankers dock there.
It is the home of Esso and Bluescope Steel.
This is the view of Westernport Bay at Hastings.

Mangrove Worlds

Mangroves at Hastings on Westernport Bay - the eastern side of the Mornington Peninsula.
Australia has the third largest area of mangroves in the world after Indonesia and Brazil, totalling around 11,500 km2 representing approximately 6.4% of the world’s total mangrove area.
