Matinee Muse prompt #5 ~ Spirit of the Underdog
~
A lonely brown bottle
Lingering in a
Plain
Torn
Paperbag
On a
Shadowed
Empty
Table
Deep
In
The weeping hours of
A chilly
Sunday morning
Is like
A relic ~
A small
Small
Requiem to
The spirit of
The underdog

Great photo essay and poem. It's hard to think chilly when we're watching Tropical Storm Fay move into Florida.
So many underdogs - I think everyone has a bottle stashed away for that victory celebration they just never seem to achieve.
Hard to imagine a bottle of champagne in a brown bag on a picnic table, a definite sign of class, I like 'spirit of the underdog', it's a little sad.
