AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Greyscale Memory

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Shadows along the beachside walkway at Dromana, Mornington Peninsula
~
Hey Harriet's Shadow Shot Sunday prompt #15
~

Shadows and lights
Zebra the walkway of
The place where I used to be
All I have left is
Greyscale memory
Since the day
Loneliness
Ceased living
~
The walls I built were
High and cold
But you changed
My Winters to Springs
And now I stroll in
A world edged with colour
How I wish
You could always be
Here
~
P.S. Apology ~ This is a bit cheesy, but I felt like indulging in a little for once! Spring is here, and I was just reflecting on how lucky I am to have my beautiful partner!

heartfelt can afford to be cheesy,, as it matters not how it is perceived...

Many are so self absorbed, they can't see through the ME...very lucky to have recognition, it gives purpose. Go ahead and be cheesy, you'll just get praise from all of us.

Very creative fun shot ! And cheesy is all right and much better than cold or hard, there are moments to be cheesy :-)

Cheesy? I didn't think it was at all cheesy Gemma! Only beautiful! Your 'world edged with colour' photo is lovely! Loved that line because I thought the colour of the red car & the bright blue sky in the corners of the photo were really sweet, before reading your poem. Then I read your poem and the meaning behind it all made it even sweeter! Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

Hey Gemma! Just popping back in to say I hope you feel better soon. I had left the previous comment before reading the comment you left on my post. So I was unaware that you were not feeling well either. Take care! xo
