Inspire Me Thursday prompt ~ shrink
~
Shrink me down into
All I really am
~
I am a thinker
A little dark at times ~
But it is a shiny darkness
Creating light
~
I am quartz
Raw
Unpolished
Pale violet quartz
Waiting to be found by
Any stray miner
~
I am the world of pharaohs
Ancient worlds with
Ancient thoughts
~
I am the eternal calendar
Cycling and
Re-cycling through
Patterns of time
~
And I know
The god within me
Respects
The god within you
~
NAMASTE

Beautiful poem you wrote. I loved it. Great writing and nice photo, too. Sincerely, Connie and thanks for visiting my blog and your kind comment on my "Ode to a Refrigerator" poem. :-)
Namaste
Gemma,
I love the phrase within this word since I learned it from one of my poet friend before.
Namaste.
I like how you disected the details of your persona and how you laid them in words here in this poem.
The magic in writing poetry is it reveals something about us we sometimes even don't know about ourselves and they only emerge in the process as we put them in paper. Writing poetry never fail to surprise me. Writing helps me put things in the right perspective. I write poem to read myself.
I wish you well.

It's beautiful how you always have great poetry to accompany your pictures :)
