AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Totally Optional Prompts ~ Lost Stuff
~

The weekend began with
Rain
Rain and
More rain ~
It seemed Nature wanted
To break the monotony of
Winter chills with
Waterfalls
~
But on Sunday
Nature tired of playing
Rain games and
Sunlight ~
Glittering sunlight ~
Gleamed
Radiantly on
Pools
Puddles
Tears of
Mirrored waters
~
And a walk in the damp worlds of
Arthurs Seat National Park revealed
A strange sight
~
The wet woods of
What was once
A living
Breathing
Growing
Tree
Loomed like
A dark
Thomas Moore
Hollowed
Sculpture
~

Lost old stuff
Lost in the leaves of
Living new pages
~
Lost relic
Haunting silhouette
Ominous spirit

Hello Gemma,

I love your name -- it is poetry. your site really pulled me in with all of its depth and truth. How fully you express yourself in a few well-chosen words. I love it. I tend to spin thin wispy webs of words that create a hammock to cradle me and the life I dance through each day. I have much to explore on this site. I shall leave a trail to ensure I find my way back when I have drunk in enough for this visit.

Oooo, I love this former post, sounds like another like mind entering the world of spinning and weaving light.

The knarled relics seem to be hanging onto what shred of life once was, yet still deeply rooted to the reality of the earth, nothing wants to end forever, but it is the way of it. The longer you cling to it the more unimportant it becomes, to let it go is to live forever.

Always such a pleasure to swing past here and stop to listen, think, read and feel. Wonderful!

When we find lost things, we try to imagine their history, or invent one for them. Every picture tells at least one story, and you prove this time and again.
