I too love the mystique of the Egyptians, what a mysterious culture to explore through good books, as I will probably never see the real thing, I will make do and fantacize...as always.

here in crete we share a lot of cuisine with the egyptians - we are their neighbours in a sense, and both share deep-rooted cultures

But for old sites - visit Newgrange in Ireland. It is about 500 years older that the pyramids.
