Camera Critters prompt #19
~
Not even a cold winter's day
Gusting with chill winds
Sponged with rain
Stops a magpie from
Taking time to
Rest
Inquisitively
On a post
Laced with twigs
And watch
A scattered world
Tumble by
~

What a mischievous bird, yet eerily beautiful. We had them in Colorado, not so in Iowa, where I live anyway.

What a funny and pretty magpies you have over there (ours, in Flanders (Belgium) look quite different), like the titles too (magpie finds something else more interesting: hahaha) And a lot of gorgeous skies I discover on your blog. Have a nice week ! Oh yes, and the utopian homecoming photo : a dream !

Excellent capture! :)
Hey Gemma, your blog loaded much faster for me this time. I think my computer does have probs with javascript/widget thingies! Please don't feel as though you have to delete widgets though on my account. If I have probs in the future I can always check in on your fab blog from work. The work computers don't ever give me grief like mine does ;) Thanks heaps & have a great Sunday! Oh & your magpies are gorgeous. Beautiful photos again!
They are a really pretty bird.

Beautiful photo and beautiful bird. I loved watching the magpies when I lived in Germany. Thank you for bringing back a wonderful memory.
You have beautiful birds in Australia. A blogger friend of mine from there posts pictures of birds from time to time. Very beautiful. Please post more for camera critters.
very beautiful birds!
Sweet - this one is still missing in my collection! Fascinating bird!
Cheers, Klaus
That's an interesting looking bird. I like its prominent black and white feathers.
Wonderful capture. I think, magpies are a bit different here where I live, that´s why I like your post. Can see the differences:-)
Thank you for dropping by my blog and nice comment.
Have a nice day:-)
Beautiful magpies! I haven't seen any in person, they are wonderful looking!!! Great shot!
Thanks for the great captures - I honestly don't know if I've ever seen a Magpie before. I used to call my puppy (Maggie-May) Magpie, but certain family members didn't like that nickname and told me to change it hehe.
It's time for a new critter and I'm still looking at last weeks. I really like the Magpie. I don't think I've seen one before. Very pretty bird.
