Sunday Scribblings #220 ~ Birth
~

When dawn becomes a whimper from yesterdays
And
Shabby conquests beg for change
Sometimes
A reckless dip in a Lethean sauna
Leeches the Gothic toxics
And inspires
A birth of
Nonchalent bravado

Within
A release
A silent scream...

Well, nobody's perfect

Hi Gem, you're so lucky to be able to capture such glorious dawning.

(Re: Weekend Nature - still working on it. I am trying to multitask all weekend memes in one).

Thanks for the patience.

Namaste Gemma :) this was really a beautiful take on the prompt..

Dawn as a whimper of yesterdays.. a very nice metaphor i think..

Beautiful, I love the allusions,
particularly: Leeches the Gothic toxics, for the sounds it makes.

Should it be leaches? ie to allow a liquid to percolate, or have I misunderstood (not unusual!)

Gemma Wiseman said...

PlEASE NOTE!
The word "leeches" is correct! e.g.verb (used with object)
4. to apply leeches to, so as to bleed.
5. to cling to and feed upon or drain, as a leech: His relatives leeched him until his entire fortune was exhausted.
~ Dictionary.com

I wanted the "blood sucking" idea, not the percolating (less strongly dramatic + far too soft!) idea!

But thank you for the thought vivinfrance!
