Well, nobody’s perfect

One Single Impression #121 ~ Dawn

Sunday Scribblings #220 ~ Birth
~

When dawn becomes a whimper from yesterdays
And
Shabby conquests beg for change
Sometimes
A reckless dip in a Lethean sauna
Leeches the Gothic toxics
And inspires
A birth of
Nonchalent bravado

Within
A release
A silent scream...

Well, nobody's perfect

Change Hurts

~
Sunday Scribblings prompt #136 ~ Change
~

Sometimes change hurts
~
Even though it must be ~
It must be time
To move on ~
Change hurts
~
Giving over lifetimes to
Relentless
Rusted
Gaping bowels
Breeds relief
Laced with tears
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman
~
We have no home
No bricks and mortar with our name tag
So when someone wants to reclaim
Their property

(Our borrowed home)
It must be time for us
To move on
~
Change means a fresh beginning
A new day
A new horizon
I know ~
Sometimes I feel it ~
But underneath
Change hurts
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman
~
It is good
(In a sense)
To unburden festering tokens of memory
Even if the real reason is
We are tired of re-packing them
(I am tired of re-packing them) in
Bland brown
Faceless boxes
~

~
Within a few weeks of tomorrows
We will see
A new landscape of furnishings
A new landscape of waters
~
I keep seeing
The sign
Someone left
On our new lounge room window
I believe in Angels
~
And tucked away
Beneath our new
High verandah
Someone left
A string of tiny
Tibetan prayer flags
~
It must be time
To let the books ~
The many books ~
Go

Breathing Patches

3WW Prompt ~ change + dizzy + key
~

The key to being different
Is to look up at the world in different ways
~
Within the webbed mass
Of dark twiggy dizzy woods
Could be a dark
Different
Breathing silhouette of
Another life
~
The key to being different
Is to look down at the world in different ways
~
Within a humble puddle
Dry
Small
Rejected leaves
Float
In reflections of
A patch of clear blue
And the breathing
Living silhouette
Of a tree
~
Change
Growing

I Cannot Be ~ for One Single Impression "Change" prompt + Poets Online

~~~
I cannot be boxed
Symmetrical and planed sides
Berlin Walls are cruel
~~~~~~~~~~
~
If I were the sky
I would be a cloud
Drifting,
Reshaping
Reinventing
~
If I were the earth
I would be a rock
Bathing in
The rush of
A waterfall
~
If I were a tree
I would be a willow
Soft lacy wanderings
Dreaming quietly
In whispering breezes
By water
~
If I were a place
I would be Sheffield
In Tasmania
Vibrant with murals
Of old lifetime
Spaces
~
If I were a shop
I would be Berkelouw's
Rambling
Berrima homestead
Alone in serene farmland
Graced with an
Intimate cafe
And a wonderful log fire
Hosted
By an old armchair
~
If I were a garden

I would be
Mount Annan Botanic Garden
A healing place
Where forested boardwalks
Gently lead to sanctuaries
Of old songlines
And a sundial
On a hill
Waits for
Human shadows
To cast time
~
If I were a bread of life

I would wink
Impishly
From the exotic worlds
Of chocolate
~
If I were to be a season

I would be Autumn
Mystical limbo
Raining in colour
~
If I were to be an element

I would be Water
Paradox of
A variable constant
Sometimes plains of blue
Leading to
Silken road horizons
Sometimes lapping charms
By those coastal sands
Of decision
Sometimes cleansing
Healing hands
Sometimes
Stormy
Drowning
Rebirth
~
But, I am none of those things

For now
For now

I am just
Some eerie etchings
On a white slate
Trying to drift
In a tiny bark
Through tai chi skies.
~~~~~~~~~~
I cannot be tagged
Sticky, cramped in clawing words
Ink blots are magic
~~~~~~~~~~~

NOTE: I tried to create a wave-like motion in the line lengths; a little like tidal whimsy but also like the enigmatic waving pulse of a heart-beat!
