It's nice to see a pelican that isn't covered in oil.
They are amazing creatures & your haiku captures them nicely.

Love your pelican shadow. But then, I love pelicans!

The pelican has a wonderful style while in motion as he dives into the water for dinner. And an almost noble look as he stands on the beach posing. A real beauty, a beautiful bird...

Your name was only one, which I had seen before in a list of Shadow Shot Sunday :)
And you have same beautiful template as many months ago, when I was on your sites.
Wonderful pelicans - safe in your country in this moment unlike in the Gulf of Mexico

Happy Sunday to you!

I love your words on winter and the photos of the gulls on the shoreline is stunning. You know the pelican is one of my favorite birds, I can watch them soar for hours. We never had them in our neck of the woods when I was a child, nor did we have gulls, but the flyway seems to have changed...huge flights of pelicans soar high above the Mississippi river, catching thermals above the farmland...a surreal sight! My heart breaks for the tragedy in the gulf of Mexico, I can't watch the news, it's too tragic and overwhelming!

Hope you're caught up on all the reports, I would have such a hard time with that...just balancing my checkbook gives me hives!!!

My brother and I were sitting on the porch swing the other day, it was a perfect soon to be summer day and he asked me what I would be doing right now if I was retired...THIS...I replied, just sitting and watching and listening...WELL, I know that ain't gonna happen, cause I'm way too energetic(retarded)to stop doing what I do. It's an artist's life for me, yo ho!!!

Always creating and thinking of my next venture, it's a charmed life. In my heart it's all I need, why complicate it, besides it's life and it is what it is. The only thing that would make it perfect, is living by the sea...I can't even imagine the inspiration that one gets just from the sound and the smell of it...perhaps in another life!

Take care dearest friend and think of me when you walk the shores!
Hugs from afar!

I've seen pelicans this close up - only from a great distance! Great shot!

Aren't pelicans the most entertaining birds? Over the years I have been guilty of sitting for many an hour watching their comical antics. You appear to have captured them mid-dance!

What lovable larrikans these creatures are! I love how you captured them. And how lucky these guys are to be so far way from the Gulf Coast disaster. I see a couple of others have commented about that also. I guess those heartbreaking images of oil covered pelicans are stuck with all us forever...

Enjoy the rest of your weekend Gemma. It's a long one. Woohoo!

The pelicans make such a nice sharp contrast with their shadows. You had a good sunny day for it too.
